DVD Cover icons

Hurt Locker icons;
>Bold title that’s ‘cracked/damaged.’
>Top image shows the main character in a uniform.
> The uniform looks similar to a bomb disposal teams.
>Army tanks and vehicles behind him, showing him coming away from them.
>Dusty smoke from behind him, from what seems like maybe a bomb.
>Solders in 4/6 images, with something constantly army related happening.
>A timer shows a bomb – supporting the smoke above.
>One of the men in the images shows a big explosion behind him showing action.
>The potential audience would be mostly men or action lovers, and the 5 star rating at the bottom would most likely make them intrigued, especially after reading the quote above it saying "One of the best war movies ever made". The smoke and the guy looking through the scope, plus the timer would make the consumer want to watch it as well because they may want to see if this film is as good as it is made out to be.

The Vow
>
The border of the film is pink, showing it’s a girly film.
>The two main characters are looking into each others eyes and smiling, showing that they are more likely to be a couple, that are in love.
>The border also has flowers and butterflies coming from it, making it stand out for girls more.
>A vow is involved in marriage, so we can tell this is going to be a love film.
>The title is really obvious to what we expect the film to be about.
>The potential audience would most likely be teenage girls, and the border helps to make this film stand out to them. The background shows a clear blue sky, this can also symbolise happiness.

The Departed
>
The departed cover seems based around the same 3 colours: dark red, white, and an old yellowish colour. These colours make it seem like an old classic type of film.
>By splitting the image into 4 basic sections, it spaces the cover out, drawing the consumers immediate attention to what’s in them.
>The 3 images at the front seem deep in thought, this shows planning or secrets.
>The corners seem worn down, or scratched also showing its age even though it may be a new film.
>The characters are wearing suits, or office wear, this could mean businesses and the city in the background of the red square supports this.
>The potential audience would be men between the ages of 13-30 who love film about crime and who love the actors by saying "A new American crime classic".

The Bounty Hunter
>The title, although being plain stands out with the red banner behind it.
>The two characters are chained together – could give a sort of cat and mouse chase affect
>Dirt on the characters can signify "rough and tumble" affect. Meaning that they’ve had fights, or tried running free.
>The background shows a car’s bonnet on fire showing that this could be an action film.
>What they’re wearing shows it is set in modern day.
>Their facial expressions shows that they aren’t happy being hand-cuffed together, and by the tilt of her head up to him, she could be showing that she isn’t going to back down.
>The two main actors’ names are in bold up the top, this can make it stand out to the consumers so that they will buy it knowing that those characters are in it, and want to watch it.
>The potential consumer would be probably males or females between the ages of 16-late 20’s who like action and a little bit of awkward romance.
 
 
Avengers Assemble
>Marvel characters will attract Marvel fans, and teenagers.
>The city in the background and explosions shows that it is in modern time, and that it is packed with action.
>The title, is in silver and bold, but also the two A’s are assembled into just the one, so that the consumer can read the title, and realise that something is being brought together before looking at the rest of the cover.
>Iron Man, The Hulk, Thor, Hawk Eye, Captain America, Black Widow, and Nick Fury are the first things you notice, making this DVD cover bounce at you.
>The dark colours in the background also help to make the front images of the characters and title stand out more in the foreground.
>The actors names at the top in white again will draw the attention of the actors fans.
>Potential consumers would be teenagers between 12-20 allow parts can appeal to those older. It also appeals to anyone who loves Marvel characters, or action with superheroes.
